Four Queens
Created on February 17, 2023.
Act I: The Arrival
Upon the banks of the Nevada sands, where desert sun doth reign,
Stands Four Queens, a noble house of games, where men doth test their mettle and their aim.
With eager step and merry heart, I ventured forth to this abode,
To see what fortunes may be found within, and what tales may be told.
Act II: The Atmosphere
From the very first, I felt a warmth and welcome in this place,
As though I were a king, come to a loyal subject's embrace.
The halls were bright and bustling, full of life and sound and cheer,
And though the crowds were thick and noisy, no hint of strife was near.
The dealers were a merry lot, quick-witted and good-humored,
And even when the cards went cold, their spirits never soured.
The players, too, were in good form, a jovial and diverse crowd,
All hoping for a lucky streak, and willing to say so aloud.
Act III: The Games
Now, what of the games themselves, that draw so many here?
I say without reservation, they are of the highest tier.
Blackjack, craps, and roulette, all were in full swing,
With dozens of tables and machines, each tempting with its bling.
The blackjack dealers were deft and skilled, each with a personal touch,
And though I lost more than I won, I enjoyed it very much.
The craps tables were a sight to see, with their complex rules and bets,
And the cheers and groans that followed each roll, they made my heart abet.
The roulette wheels spun round and round, each number hoping to land,
And though my chips grew few and small, I played with a willing hand.
The slot machines, too, were abundant, with themes of every kind,
And though they ate my coins with glee, I never really did mind.
Act IV: The Accommodations
Now, what of the rooms, where one might rest his weary head?
I can say with certainty, they are well-appointed and well-fed.
My own was cozy and clean, with a view of the Strip,
And though it was not the most luxurious, I found it to be hip.
The bed was soft and supple, with pillows piled high,
And the bathroom was spacious and bright, with fixtures that did not lie.
The air conditioning worked well, keeping me cool and content,
And though the noise from the street was loud, I found it quite decent.
Act V: The Dining
Now, let us speak of the dining, a crucial part of any stay,
For a hungry man is a crabby man, and that will ruin one's day.
Four Queens has several options, from casual to upscale,
And though I did not try them all, I found them to be of great scale.
Maggie's Southwestern Cafe was my favorite by far,
With its colorful decor and spicy dishes, it was fit for a czar.
The Prime Rib Loft was also quite good, with its steaks and seafood fare,
And though the prices were a bit high, I felt they were fair.
Act VI: The Conclusion
So, what can I say in summing up, of Four Queens and its charms?
I say without hesitation, it is a place of great arms.
The games are lively and thrilling, the dealers a witty crew,
The rooms are cozy and clean, and the dining is not askew.
