Encore
Created on February 22, 2023.
Oh what a wondrous night have I had of late
At Encore casino in Las Vegas I did stay.
The magnificence was nigh matchless in its scale,
It a place I am sure I shall never fail.
The brightness and spectacle as I stepped inside were viewed as suns in the air at ocean’s side,
Glittering gold popped hither and yon,
Colours that shone as I swept o’er each floor bade me walk on.
A grandiose escape truly 'twas built
An oasis that many had been schooled to not thrill.
But alas a joy could not be denied,
A pure magic that defied all tried.
Table games abounded in many a guise,
Roulette, blackjack and craps, far from shy of size.
Boys and girls alike, men and women too,
Gathered round whichever table was for them due.
Poker was well represented 'neath the lights,
Including famous Texas Hold’em sites.
The players came from far and wide
Attempting to raise their chips in pride.
A wide array of slots did abound,
From classic reels to fancy machines abound.
The tinkling pings of the jackpots called out
Tempting players in many a doubt.
Encore was found not wanting for drinks,
The shimmering glasses and bottles marked more than a few blinks
Soft music played in the background
As I sampled nectars galore with a pounding.
The lounge and bars provided ideal refuges
To unwind and partake of fresh smoked stogies.
Unrivalled was the atmosphere,
Nigh as though it was a prima donna’s glee.
Entertainment was of the best in Vegas,
With music of every genre that there is.
Bands from all around the world would play
Leaving us with joy that could not fray.
Delectable fare was also to be had,
With restaurants fit for even a royal lad.
Cuisine of all kinds, including those of the west
A food coma result I’d not begrudge or detest.
Sports betting was conveniently on hand
Before brawls even starting the centre grand.
The odds would be laid often a favour
In the cheering echoing around the fervour.
Encore really was a gentle giant,
No shortage of activity, nothing to be silent.
The showers akin to a rainforest
Memories of art, dance and even sport; this was true, no less.
The casino dealers all smiled and joked
Making the night, though already lit, glow more like a candle lit.
The staff were so attentive and forgiving
That the night seemed to take no ending.
Deemed the envy of many casino places
This was the stuff of legends, no shells to crack, no nooses and laces.
As I ventured off into the night
I pondered what marvels this grand establishment did bring to light.
To Encore casino in Las Vegas, I give a rapturous praise
Nigh as fitting for a heavenly daze.
Such a majestic place I am sure I shall nevermore be wishing to lose.
Mellifluous laden, the sights and experiences, this is no lie, I will nevermore choose.
